Import & Export Regulations: Mexico

Descartes MX Ocean AMS is an Internet-accessible service for entry of ocean manifest information for shipments imported to and exported from Mexico. Data transmitted or entered into Descartes MX AMS by ocean carriers and NVOCCs is stored, formatted and transmitted directly to Mexican Customs in accordance with their new filing regulations. The easy-to-use web interface allows data to be entered, validated and managed by you prior to transmission to Mexican customs.

The Descartes MX Ocean AMS solution was designed to comply with the new mandatory Mexican Customs regulations that, effective September 1, 2007, apply to all carriers, forwarders and NVOCC’s moving ocean shipments through Mexico.  Descartes MX Ocean AMS helps you transmit ocean manifest, bill of lading and container information as required by the new Mexican Customs regulations. 

Information is transmitted in an encrypted EDI specification prior to receipt by Mexican Customs. Integration across multiple modules eliminates redundant data-entry for those companies that are able to send the required data through an EDI connection.
