  • Air AMS for Container Freight Stations (CFS) - Through participation in the AMS system, CFS operators gain automatic visibility into the status of cargo destined for their facility. Without participation they are unable to gain any benefit from the existing Customs Compliance process. By connecting to AMS, CFS operators can anticipate the arrival of cargo and scheduled time of arrival. Descartes’ Air AMS for Container Freight Stations provides a proven, automated link to the Air AMS system.
  • Air AMS Direct Filing Service - By leveraging the Descartes AMS Direct Filing Service, freight forwarders can improve the control over their data and gain direct visibility to the status of filings as well as manage customs compliance processes directly. The Descartes Air AMS Direct Filing Service guarantees the quality of data submitted to customs authorities. The service provides complete control over updates to the data, resolution of errors and offers the option of maintaining confidentiality of Shipper and Consignee information.

Highway ACE

Descartes Highway ACE Service, ACE-4-Trucks, is a comprehensive ACE e-Manifest filing service for shipments coming into the United States via vehicle.

Through an easy-to-navigate Web interface, the Descartes ACE-4-Trucks service submits shipment waybill and trip information independently and can create a complete manifest in one session, in compliance with CBP ACE e-Manifest regulations and the Trade Act of 2002.

Capabilities and benefits include:

  • Profile databases for shipper, consignee, companies, driver and equipment data used on repeated shipments.
  • Field-targeted Help and Lookup features to ensure compliance.
  • Detailed reports and email e-Alerts immediately alert users to border crossing problems or manifest errors.
  • Automated VPN EDI interface, with support for industry standard file formats.

ACE-4-Trucks can be fully integrated with other Descartes Customs Filing and Compliance Services to allow for multimodal, multi-country customs compliance.

Descartes ACE-4-Trucks Service is available as the following services:

  • ACE-4-Trucks Service: a web-based application that allows truckers to electronically submit waybill and trip information directly to CBP in advance of arriving at the border. Detailed report updates and email e-alerts advise users of border crossing problems or manifest errors in real-time. This application also builds profile databases for the shipper, consignee, companies, driver and equipment data used on repeated shipments.
  • ACE Preparer Service:  is a service focused on the carrier that does not want to directly manage ACE compliance software and the submissions. This service allows carriers to simply fax or email a complete manifest to the Descartes 24X7 service center and our experienced operators will file to CBP directly. This service also provides real-time status updates of the e-Manifest submission.
  • ACE Premier Service: takes the ACE Preparer Service one step further for customs compliance. This service takes the faxed documents and routes them to the proper customs broker for customs processing. In addition, this service provides the follow up necessary to ensure that the driver can arrive at the border fully prepared. ACE Premier manages the movement of vital trade documentation to the right place at the right time.
  • ACE Connect Service: For large organizations with an existing infrastructure and ACE filing solutions, the ACE Connect Service processes this existing data and submits it via industry standard EDI or an in-house XML and securely transmits it directly to the CBP.
  • Descartes also offers an Affinity Program for users to resell the ACE-4-Trucks Service and brand it as their own value-added service to their customers

Export Regulations: United States

US Export: Declarations AES

Descartes Export AES Service provides a secure, convenient, and cost effective electronic integration into the U.S. Customs Automated Export System (AES). Configurable for companies of any size, this service features exporter/freight forwarder integration, denied party screening, reporting and analysis and export compliance tools.

Capabilities and benefits include:

  • Timely document delivery to AES
  • Fully supported pre-departure and post departure filing methods
  • Real-time validation and checking
  • No certification required

Descartes Export AES Service is available as the following services:

  • Export2000*Web: Ideal for small companies or those without dedicated documentation systems, this service can be integrated as a component of an enterprise wide system for larger companies allowing lookups, service for remote offices and providing a backup to EDI service.  Microsoft Internet Explorer is all that is required to access Export2000’s easy-to-use, intuitive interface.  Filed-targeted Help and Lookup functions facilitate data entry.  The Export2000 Assistant reports the status of a shipment within the system before a problem can develop.  Errors are validated before any shipment is sent to U.S. Customs and solutions are provided to help submit successfully.
  • Shipment Reporting Service:  Provides at-a-glance reporting of the shipments entered into AES. You can access the basic data of a particular shipment as well as the status of the shipment within AES.  If necessary, you can make changes to the shipment through the Shipment Reporting Services and resubmit.
  • Exporter Analysis Service: Effectively evaluates your AES traffic. Provides views and graph statistics for shipments and calculates the daily, weekly and monthly averages.  Information can be broken down by any element.
  • Export2000*EDI: For larger companies with existing documentation systems, Export2000*EDI can be used without additional data entry.  Export2000*EDI opens a gateway between your existing documentation and in-house systems and Export2000, providing access to AES without the challenges of communicating with Customs, worrying about changes to AES, or the full U.S. Customs AES certification test.  You can communicate with Export2000 using X12 or our proprietary format. You can access Export2000 via the internet, a value-added network such as, Descartes Global Logistics Network, or a dial-up UUCP connection.  Messages from customs are returned directly.  For reporting, access to Export2000*Web is also available to Export2000*EDI users.
  • Export2000*EDI-EZ: Serves as a ‘double check’ on those who wish to use their existing documentation systems.  Companies can send their Shipper’s Export Declaration (SED) data directly to Export2000 for validation within AES.  Those transactions that achieve 100% compliance are passed along to AES.  The rest are saved by Export2000 and placed in a Pending status.  Pending shipments can be accessed through the Web interface, correct and then resubmitted to AES.
